Today I was searching for the keyword “emirates driving” to locate Dubai Emirates Driving Institute website and I came across this on the search result
I was shocked to see the description in the search result ;-). Then I inspected the code of the website which gave me lot of information ..
<title>Emirates Driving Institute – Home</title>
<meta name=”description” content=”Joomla – the dynamic portal engine and content management system” />
<meta name=”keywords” content=”Joomla, joomla” />
<meta name=”Generator” content=”Joomla! – Copyright (C) 2005 – 2006 Open Source Matters. All rights reserved.” />
Now it is very clear to me that meta tags are really important to search engine optimization. And emirates driving school website is driven by a famous open source application named Joomla 😀
I would say not!
At least not with Google Optimization…
The case is that Google takes the Description META for Home Pages ONLY, and drops the rest located in any Sub Pages, Description in these pages is picked up randomly based on the search criteria to match keywords from your content.
Case of keywords META and Google, just forget it! it is totally ignored and doesn’t matter with the Google Optimization but still you have to use it to Optimize for other SE than Google.
Fun Stuff 🙂 shows how careless some progys are!
