Smart Comment Spammers

I really have no idea why I get so much spams everyday. On a average of 100 to 150 spam comments per day is too much. In this I am not counting the spam that is blocked Askimet. While going through the spam it looks so real. The spam comment looks like a conversation for the particular blog post I made.

If you see the above two comment spam it is really context sensitive. The first comment is for a post I blogged about Martins birthday party. The second is about the PDA plugin I did for WordPress.

After analysing the comment I noticed they have copied the previous comment from the post. If the page has too many comments they select random comments and post again.

If this is some kind of automated job I wonder how much resource they are using for a bad cause. Is this all because of SEO. All the blog comments url has rel=”nofollow” in the links so I am really sure it will not contribute in good search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. Then what is point of spamming the comments section in all WordPress blogs.

Putting hundreds of plugin to fight spam is of no use. They escape all rules then get in as approved. Having captcha is also of no use and I am really getting sick of this every day. :-(

Why is this happening ????

PDA plugin with iPhone support

Today I upgraded my blog to latest WordPress 2.5. You have no idea what they have done to the WordPress. It is really great and lovely. I really like the new interface and media manager integration. Most of the functionalities what my organizer plugin did is of no use now. Thanks to WordPress team :-)

After a very long time I sat down and update the pda plugin. While doing so I got little greedy and tried to add a simple iPhone theme to it. It is far away from beta version. Still lot more to go. I am still finding a best method to do the plugin with nice ajax features and animation what iPhone would support. Still far more to go on the theme. For a 4 hours of work it works pretty well. I know what are all the bugs in it but I will try to mend it and release a new version end of next week.

wp-pda plugin is now fully compactible with latest WordPress 2.5. I would like to get feedback from you all. Thanks for supporting the plugin so far :-)

Me and my friend Yogesh wanted to try something totally new. We decided to shave our head. In the course action my cousin Riyaz came in between and got his head too shaved. You can see how sad he is :-D . One important highlight of the event is, Riyaz is doing it for the first time.

Today I noticed in my blog Google Adsense unit two arrows.  Out of curiostity I went and click on it. It was nothing but pagination for that ad unit. Some keywords has too many ads so Google wants the end user to select from different pages and click on it ;-)

Facts to know when driving in Dubai

  1. If your road map is more than a few weeks old throw it out and get a new one.
  2. If you are in Rashidiya and your map is one day old, then it is already obsolete.
  3. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Dubai has its own version of traffic rules, which can be summarized as ‘Hold on and pray!’
  4. If it is your priority to cross, forget it and wait.
  5. There is no such thing as a dangerous high-speed chase in Dubai. Everyone drives like that.
  6. When you plan to get a new car, ask first about its acceleration from 80 to 160 Km/h (recommended: 3 seconds). Very important if you frequently use the Emirates Road.
  7. All directions start with Sheikh Zayed Road, which has no beginning and no end.
  8. The morning rush hour is from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The evening rush hour is from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
  9. Thursday’s rush hour starts Wednesday evening.
  10. If you slow down at a yellow light, you will be knocked behind by another motorist and then awarded a white ticket by the Dubai Police.
  11. If you are the first one at the intersection when the light turns green, ignore the car honking behind you and count to five to avoid crashing into one of the cars jumping the red light.
  12. Construction on all main roads is a way of life and a permanent form of entertainment.’Sorry for the inconvenience’ is an honor for your long-suffering
  13. All unfamiliar sights are explained by the phrase, ‘Oh, we must be in Sharjah !’

  24. Dubai Autodrome has a new extension: The Emirates Road.
