Smart Comment Spammers
I really have no idea why I get so much spams everyday. On a average of 100 to 150 spam comments per day is too much. In this I am not counting the spam that is blocked Askimet. While going through the spam it looks so real. The spam comment looks like a conversation for the particular blog post I made.

If you see the above two comment spam it is really context sensitive. The first comment is for a post I blogged about Martins birthday party. The second is about the PDA plugin I did for Wordpress.
After analysing the comment I noticed they have copied the previous comment from the post. If the page has too many comments they select random comments and post again.
If this is some kind of automated job I wonder how much resource they are using for a bad cause. Is this all because of SEO. All the blog comments url has rel=”nofollow” in the links so I am really sure it will not contribute in good search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. Then what is point of spamming the comments section in all Wordpress blogs.
Putting hundreds of plugin to fight spam is of no use. They escape all rules then get in as approved. Having captcha is also of no use and I am really getting sick of this every day.
Why is this happening ????
PDA plugin with iPhone support
Today I upgraded my blog to latest WordPress 2.5. You have no idea what they have done to the WordPress. It is really great and lovely. I really like the new interface and media manager integration. Most of the functionalities what my organizer plugin did is of no use now. Thanks to WordPress team
After a very long time I sat down and update the pda plugin. While doing so I got little greedy and tried to add a simple iPhone theme to it. It is far away from beta version. Still lot more to go. I am still finding a best method to do the plugin with nice ajax features and animation what iPhone would support. Still far more to go on the theme. For a 4 hours of work it works pretty well. I know what are all the bugs in it but I will try to mend it and release a new version end of next week.
wp-pda plugin is now fully compactible with latest WordPress 2.5. I would like to get feedback from you all. Thanks for supporting the plugin so far

Plan for next month weekends :-)
It has been more than one and half year after I released Organizer plugin for Wordpress. Initially I wrote that plugin to help my dad who was blogging that time. Latter he stopped blogging so I stopped further updates on Organizer. Recently I got couple of mails asking for an updated version. I have decided to write a simple version from scratch with basic functionalities which can help bloggers to manage the files.
The features I am planning to include for 2.0 alpha are the following
1. Manage files from the upload folder
2. Copy / Move / Delete files from upload directory
3. Use phpThumb for image manipulation
4. Use smarty for clean code
5. Use jquery for ajax and DOM handling
6. Complete rewrite of everything as it is a complete.
7. Full support for 2.3.2 and above only.
I should be able to release the basic version by end of Feb 2008. I am really thank full for all the people who have downloaded the plugin and used it. And thanks for pushing me so hard so that I can move my lazy butt and do some work during my weekends.
Catch you soon with Organizer 2.0 alpha ![]()
Blog upgraded to wordpress 2.3
Today I upgraded my blog to the latest wordpress release. The upgrade was quite simple as usual. This time I made it a point to clear all my plugins and download all the latest ones.
I planning to discontinue my plugin organizer. There is no time to update such a big plugin these days. I will update menu manager and pda plugin this weekend.
I really like the tag feature in the new wordpress. There are few things I feel it is very much needed
- Tag manager
- Bulk post tag updater
- Quick tag update on posts
I already have so many post and I edited few for tag and I felt lazy and stopped. Thanks to wordpress for this wonder update ![]()
