My issue is it gets detectd in hardware list but the ipw2200 driver is of no use to it. Right now I am managing with ethernet cable. Like you, my WLAN card seems to be detected properly, but I can't get it to conect to my access point. When I try to activate eth1, I get an error message: "Determining IP information for eth1... failed; no link present. Check cable?" My gut feeling is that the driver doesn't properly initialize the WLAN card, but I don't know how to verify if that's the case.
